"Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic."
Today's question on the YA Highway Road Trip is:
When I'm not reading them, I pile books on the closest available surface--table, chair, floor. There's nothing productive about these stacks. I'm not pressing flowers or stopping doors, but I do get something out of my messiness. Being surrounded by books at every turn makes me happy.
These are fairly tame stacks for me; usually they're so high that they threaten to topple over, and they've colonized every room in the house. You may note that every book pictured is borrowed. God bless the library!
I have six children and four cats--the floor is not a safe place for books! I must say, though, there is a certain joy about going into used book stores where they have books in bookshelves, on tables, and lining the floors. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky in that my family and pets respect my piles. That may be a result of the fact that I go into horrified librarian mode if someone tries to fold down a corner of a book or plop it down without closing it. I'm also scandalized by people who make marks in their own books!
DeleteI too love book stores where the books run wild. It's like the books own the physical space in a way they can't in libraries or homes.
Stacking sounds about right. I'm out of room on my bookshelves!
ReplyDeleteAfter several moves, I have barely any bookshelves. Must change that!
DeleteI have numerous piles of books scattered everywhere too. One of these days I should invest in more shelves :P
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love hearing that other people stack.
DeleteI have my fair share of those, too!
ReplyDeleteWe have our own little club going here!
DeleteHaha love the stacks. Stacks would be dangerous for me as I stumble on a flat surface as is. No need to add obstacles.
ReplyDeleteHaha. It's true, they can be dangerous, especially in the dark!
DeleteThis is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteMy first spam comment. Oh proud and happy day!
