Colurophobia is the clinical name for a fear of clowns. I, like many, am afraid of clowns. My feelings towards Santa Claus impersonators are equally strong. The closest Latin term I could find for my fear was hagiophobia, a fear of saints. Although we can count Saint Nick, I think it's stretching it a little too far to use hagiophobia for Santa Claus. I'm stuck on Santaphobia. Feel free to suggest something more graceful.
Below is a collage of Santa impersonators who are variously sinister, overly disguised, stalkers, prone to making babies cry, or any combination of the above. Warning: if you suffer from Santaphobia, these pictures may be triggering.
